Meet Councilmember Sarah Moore
Councilmember Sarah Moore is dedicated to serving the people of Fayetteville Ward 2 and working to ensure Fayetteville remains a place where people can afford to live, build a life, and feel at home.

Since joining the City Council, Sarah has focused on the challenges that matter most to residents: housing affordability, community-minded development, sustainable growth, expansion of transit services, and responsible investments in the future of our city.

Sarah believes good local government requires listening to residents, asking difficult questions, and finding practical solutions to complex problems. Her work has included advancing greater transparency and fairness for renters, advocating for meaningful responses to homelessness and housing insecurity, strengthening public accountability, and working to ensure Fayetteville's growth is guided by thoughtful planning rather than simply growth for growth's sake.

She is committed to protecting the character and accessibility of our public spaces while recognizing that a growing city must also make room for new neighbors, new housing, and new opportunities. Sarah approaches development with an emphasis on building complete, connected neighborhoods; investing in infrastructure; and making sound financial decisions that serve Fayetteville for decades to come.

Sarah also believes that government should work for everyone. That means making city government more transparent and responsive, ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their neighborhoods, and building trust through open channels of dialogue with one another.

Building a livable Fayetteville means making thoughtful decisions today that create a stronger city tomorrow. It means expanding housing options, investing in our neighborhoods and public spaces, planning responsibly for growth, and creating a safe, welcoming community where people from every walk of life can afford to live and thrive.

Addressing the housing crisis through development-code reform and expanded opportunities- planning for growth while protecting neighborhood character, addressing the needs of tree canopy, green spaces, Â drainage challenges, & ensuring infrastructure keeps pace & is prioritized in ongoing maintenance. Â There's a lot to do but pursuing it means that Fayetteville continues to be a welcoming city where every resident participates and belongs.
Sarah believes in planning ahead and making responsible investments that strengthen Fayetteville for generations to come. That means looking beyond the immediate cost of a project to understand its long-term maintenance, infrastructure, and financial needs—especially for essential systems like water, sewer, stormwater, streets, and public facilities.

It means planning for growth before it becomes a crisis, investing public resources to achieve clearly defined community goals, and making decisions based on the Fayetteville we are building together.
A government that works for everyone starts with the belief that elected officials are in service to residents. And, also at the same time doing everything possible for public meetings, processes, and spaces to be less intimidating, easier to access and for residents to have what they need to participate fully in their processes.

Sarah believes Fayetteville is strongest when residents have a meaningful voice in their government, when decisions are made openly and fairly, and when city services and resources work for every neighborhood—not just those with the loudest voices or greatest access.
